[2.5] The Return Of Callisto

Callisto: You know I don't drink intoxicants, Theodorus.
Theodorus: I thought maybe just this once--
Callisto: No. I want to experience life in all it's agonizing glory. I don't want to dull the sensations in any way.

Callisto: You're not falling in love with me, are you?
Theodorus: And what if I was?
Callisto: I'd have to kill you. Love is a trick that nature plays to get us to reproduce. I want no part of it. [ Pout. ]

Callisto: I don't understand you. After all I did, you still can't kill me.

Gabrielle: Get it over with.
Callisto: Oh, no, no, no, no. I'm going to make a grand show of your death. And only an audience will truly appreciate it.

Xena: It ain't over until it's over.
Callisto: Oh, but it will be soon. You're about to watch the friendship of your life go up in smoke! [ She turns towards Gabrielle and looks contemplative for a moment. ] Mm. I envy her, in a way. She gets to leave this life so pure. I wonder if I could have been her? [ A long pause. ] Burn her.
Xena: [ Yanks at the chains that keep her in the restraint chair. ]
Callisto: Oh, don't bother struggling, Xena, be thankful for that beautiful throne. It'll give you peace if you let it.

Callisto: [ Stuck in a pit of quick sand. ] Ahahaha! We're both going to die, Xena. How wonderful. We can spend the rest of eternity in Tartarus together.

Callisto: Xena, help me. Xena! Xena. Please! Xena, help me? Please? Xena, you can't just let me die, Xena. Xena! Xena. I'm counting on you. Help me! Help me! HELP ME!! XENAAA! [ And she screams as she sinks under the dirt. ]

[2.7] Intimate Stranger

Callisto: Hello, Xena. Oh, how I've missed you. Do you know how boring Tartarus can be? Same old torture every day, every day. It makes me appreciate what we had.

Xena: I didn't kill her, Ares.
Callisto: Oh, keep telling yourself that, dear, and maybe someday you'll believe it. See, you let me sink into the quick sand. What's the difference?

Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] Remember...I killed your love. I stole your sword and stuck it right through him and I felt his warm blood on my hand. You can't even avenge his death.

Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] Well, hatred's not something to be feared. It's a part of all of us. And for some of us, it's all we ever really know.

Ares: Now kill the girl and move on.
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] First thing's first, Ares. I promised you my allegiance. I promised you an army to rule the world. You promised me satisfaction!
Ares: I did, didn't I. [ Cue sexy times. ]

Xena: [ In Callisto's body. ] Where's Gabrielle?
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] Gabrielle? Gabrielle? Oh, well, I'm Xena now, so she's my little friend. Of course, if anything ever happened to Gabrielle, pretty Xena would be crushed, wouldn't I? Maybe something has already happened to Gabrielle. Maybe I've already killed her and hung her up from that tree!

Ares: What do you think you're doing? If you could just wait, you'll have it all. In a short time--
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] In a short time Xena will be back in the Underworld and I won't have my satisfaction.
Ares: You think you know her, but you don't. I do and you are giving her every opportunity to beat you! Now I forbid this!
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] You? Forbid me? No one, God or Man, forbids me from doing anything. All my anger, all my hatred is for Xena alone. When I'm done with her, you can have what's left. I won't care.
Ares: This...was not my plan.
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] Funny, it was always mine. Guess I used you. But you can still claim victory if you let me finish my game.
Ares: You're on your own, then.
Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] Hehe!

Callisto: [ In Xena's body. ] It makes no difference. I can still wake up from this nightmare, and I will have no guilt to make my dreams present.
Xena: [ In Callisto's body. ] Don't you?
Callisto: [ She giggles and shakes her head. ] Mmmh! However evil you think I am, Xena, my soul is clean. Because it's all...on...you. You started this when you killed my family.
Xena: [ In Callisto's body. ] Are you thinking of your family now? Because when people think of the dead, the dead can hear them.
Arleia: [ Callisto's mother, Arleia, appears out of the fog. ]
Callisto: ...Mama? ...Look at her, Xena! Look at my mother! She's here to remind you of your past!.
Arleia: No. I'm not here because of Xena. I've come because of you.
Callisto: ...Me?
Arleia: Yes. Every time you killed, you were killing me.
Xena: How many of your victims had faces, Callisto? How many had families, sons and daughters who loved their parents? How many were just like your mother when they died at your hand?
Callisto: ...No! No, you can't make me feel guilty.
Xena: Right. Only you can do that. [ The souls of all Callisto's past victims come out of the fog as well, moaning in pain. ] I've got my own past to deal with, but I'm not taking the weight of your crimes anymore.
Arleia: Look around you; these people didn't need to die.
Callisto: No... [ She shakes her head. ] No, you go away! [ She looks frightened. ] I didn't do anything--she did it! [ Points to Xena. ] Not me! [ She tries to cover her ears and hide. ]
Xena: You can't shut it out. It's like a crashing wave; once it starts there's no stopping it.
Arleia: I love you, Callisto. You'll always be my daughter. But you have to face your crimes.
Callisto: No, NO!

HERCULES [3.12] Surprise

Callisto: My, my, it looks like somebody spiked the punch! I'm glad I don't drink.

Callisto: Nice pants.

Callisto: After so little time together--it's funny--I feel like I know you.
Hercules: You don't.
Callisto: The fates brought us together. Although, I have to admit, you're not at all how I imagined you to be.
Hercules: How disappointing.
Callisto: Oh, not at all. On the contrary; I couldn't be more pleased. That look back at your castle? The fire, the hate. I wonder, did you wear that same look when you watched your children die?
Hercules: Don't push me.
Callisto: Oh, but that's the beauty of it; I can. There's a new and exciting side of you just waiting to come out--I can feel it.

Callisto: Oh, now, think about it; if your children weren't your children, well, they'd still be alive, now, wouldn't they? Your love? It's a curse.
Hercules: What's the alternative? Be like you, alone and trapped in your hate? No. I'd rather take my chances.
Callisto: [ Giggle. ] Tell me, Hercules; at night in the dark all alone, do you feel your children screaming? Do you lie awake at night, wondering if there was something else you could have done, maybe if you could have gotten there a little sooner, or been a little bit more respectful to Hera?
Hercules: Drop it! I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand.
Callisto: Oh, but I do understand. My family was slaughtered like helpless animals as well!
Hercules: You didn't learn much from it, did you?
Callisto: I learned to get exactly what I want and when I want it. And you have to realize that the only reason your friends are still alive is because I have allowed it.
Hercules: And I suppose I owe you thanks.
Callisto: Oh, no. You owe me awe.

Callisto: All people are wicked, and they deserve everything they're going to get.

Callisto: Good? Is that supposed to be some kind of joke? If mortals were good, then we wouldn't need you around, would we?

Callisto: Your faith in the world is touching. Let's see how well it holds up at the end of the day, shall we?

Hercules: Vengeance isn't justice. if you understood that, maybe you would get some peace.
Callisto: Peace? Peace? I dreamed of peace. I imagined it. Let me die so I can find it. Tartarus should have been a welcome change...Instead, I learned the true meaning of torture, trapped in my hatred with nothing to do.
Hercules: Lady, immortality won't solve your problem.
Callisto: [ HISSES LIKE A SNAKE. ]

Callisto: Why can't you just die like a good boy.
Hercules: Guess I don't know when to quit.
Callisto: Well, let me inspire you.

[2.14] A Necessary Evil

Callisto: [ Picks up a rat, humming to herself. ] No, no, no. No, no. Relax, my furry little friend. No, you're not dinner. That's the boring part about immortality...you're never hungry. No, you're definitely not food. My little Hercules~ Hercules trapped me in this little jail. I owe him a lot. And I'm planning on paying him back for his kindness. Soon. Sooooooon. So...run away, like a good little Hercules. Run away...run away... [ She stabs the rat and rocks back and forth, smiling. ] Very soon, very soon.

Callisto: Such a pretty day for a bloodbath. [ Giggle. ]

Gabrielle: You're here. It wasn't my idea.
Callisto: Oh, no no, of course not. [ Rubs her nose. ] How've you been? Any new husbands since the last one I killed?
Gabrielle: [ SMACKS A BITCH WITH HER STICK. ]

Callisto: I just had a marvelous idea. Why don't you and I both eat it? [ Ambrosia ] That way we can be fighting each other for eternity.

Valesca: Who are you?
Callisto: I'm insulted! Xena, you're little playmate doesn't know who I am! She doesn't like to talk about me.
Valesca: [ Points her godly finger at Callisto. ]
Callisto: Ah-ah! Before you start going crazy and blowing things up, I think you should hear what I have to say. In fact, I'm you're only friend right now.
Valesca: I don't need or want friends.
Callisto: Another thing we have in common.
Valesca: You must have a death wish.
Callisto: You know, it's funny, I think I do.

Callisto: You don't just kill me and walk away.

Gabrielle: Can I ask you something?
Callisto: Alright. You know how much I love chit-chat.
Gabrielle: When we were at the village, when Xena was talking about Cirra. Did you feel anything?
Callisto: My goodness, are you trying to figure me out? I'm flattered.
Gabrielle: Answer me. Where you afraid?
Callisto: Let's play a game, shall we? I answer your question, you answer mine.
Gabrielle: Alright.
Callisto: What did I feel...when Xena confessed her crimes? Well, the problem is, Gabrielle, I never feel anything. Bits and pieces here and there, but nothing solid. Think back to when you were a little girl and all you knew was your mother and your sister and all your faith revolved around them...Now kill 'em.
Gabrielle: [ She looks shocked and sad. ]
Callisto: My turn.
Gabrielle: What?
Callisto: When I sliced open your husband, how long did it take him to die? [ LOLZ. ]
Gabrielle: [ STALKS OFF. CALLISTO YOU'RE A BITCH. ]
Xena: [ Comes on the scene. ] There's a path out of the mountains-- [ Watches Gabrielle leave. ] What's wrong with her?
Callisto: We played a game of truth or dare. She's not very good at it.

Callisto: [ After turning into a god. ] Here comes trouble!
